SAMC PD

Since the reorganisation of music services and subsequently hubs in the UK, a sense of community and PD opportunities can sometimes feel like distant memories to peri music teachers. It is vital to keep organisations such as the Salisbury Area Music Co-op running so that they can continue the amazing work they do in 40 or so schools in the Salisbury area. This includes, but is not limited to 1-1 instrumental lessons, small groups lessons, first access, classroom music, choirs and ensembles.

With regular meetings and PD opportunities, the members are encouraged to develop, learn, and deliver their services to the best of their abilities. Whilst I would not consider music tech a particular specialism of mine, for this group of teachers, who have had very different backgrounds, training and experiences to me, I was able to deliver a useful session about apps and online platforms which could be useful in their teaching. Not everyone is the same. Not everyone has the same skill set. All practitioners should be open to development and sharing - we each have the same goals after all, so let's share the wealth, even if to you it may seem a pittance.

Contact me for delivering PD sessions to your staff (see Play#InEducation for further details).
