After 14 years abroad during which I had the pleasure of teaching, training, singing, and playing in countless locations around the world, I have landed back in the UK. Technically I "landed" in August, but this month has been a significant step forward in terms of locating a base, and being able to start the ball rolling in the historic city of Salisbury.
Not only am I delighted to be here, but I must express how pleased I am with my timing! The Salisbury Arts Centre is a fabulous venue including multipurpose rooms, a cafe, performance spaces, and bar, which I believe used to be a thriving community hub for all things creative. Sadly, in recent years, the output, presence, and general sparkle of the place has taken a bit of a hit, but Wiltshire Creative are currently working with local artists and the community to breathe some life back into the place. To be involved in this revamp project is absolutely thrilling, and I can't wait to see where it leads.
In other news, I am also proud to be an associate of Gloucestershire, Swindon, and Wiltshire Music Hub (GSW), and am looking forward to becoming a full teacher-member of the Salisbury Area Music Co-operative.
